In 2009, I passed the Praxis II Mathematics Content Knowledge Exam, earned a teaching license in secondary mathematics (grades 7-12) from the Nevada Department of Education, and was certified as a Highly Qualified Teacher by Clark County School District. During my professional tenure in secondary mathematics instruction, I taught courses from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC. Since 2009, I have been earning my living through private practice as an independent local math tutor specializing exclusively in secondary and post-secondary mathematics. Students range from middle school through college and adult learners. Subjects range from Pre-Algebra to Calculus III and Statistics.
In 2004, I earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, graduating with a 4.0 GPA and cum laude honors. In 1999, I earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Community Nutrition, with completion of the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), and a minor in Exercise Science, from University of California, Davis. In 1993, I passed the AP Calculus BC Exam at age 17, followed by Calculus III with a grade of B at age 18.
